EAR AESTHETICS (OTOPLASTY)
The prominent ear problem, especially in childhood, can cause psychological problems in children due to comments and jokes from the social circle.
The surgery to correct prominent ears is best performed before the patient starts school in order to make sure the adverse social effects are avoided. However, if the prominent ear surgery was not performed in childhood, it can easily be performed at later ages. While general anesthesia is preferred in children, local anesthesia is preferred in adults. It is an operation that takes 1-2 hours on average. The patient is discharged on the same day.
